CS2 Pro Accused of Scamming $11,000 Worth of Skins

CS2 professional player Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad is facing serious allegations after a fan publicly accused him of scamming $11,000 worth of in-game skins. The accusations surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), where the victim detailed the events leading up to the alleged scam.
In march 2023 i lent out skins to @jkaem to play with during the Paris major (now worth 11k usd). Months later he had gambled my skins away. After a year of excuses, lies and deceits i have no choice left but to go public with this. 1/5 pic.twitter.com/8wSlwiRDuE

According to the post, in March 2023, the fan had lent jkaem a collection of skins to use during the Paris Major. However, months later, the player had reportedly gambled away the items and failed to return them. The victim described repeated attempts to recover the skins, only to be met with “excuses, lies, and deceits.” Despite numerous reassurances from jkaem that he would replace the skins with upgraded versions, the victim claims he was consistently ghosted for weeks and months at a time.
2/5 Jkaem lying about rebuying the skins he lent of me in better condition when i asked where they were. I have so many of other chatlogs with him, being ghosted for weeks and months at a time and lied, stalled, etc over and over. pic.twitter.com/hZgUfsfgnj

In an effort to resolve the situation privately, the fan set a deadline for March 15, 2024, warning jkaem that he would go public if the debt was not repaid. In response, the Norwegian player allegedly repaid only $1,000 of the now $11,000 value, with further promises that were not honored. The victim extended the deadline, but ultimately decided to go public after feeling deceived once again.
The situation escalated when the well-known trader "Zipel" reportedly urged jkaem to settle the debt in January, but the victim claims that no meaningful action was taken. They also stated that jkaem only seemed concerned once his reputation was at risk. Following the public accusations, jkaem has since locked his X account and has not issued an official response.
As of now, the professional player remains silent on the allegations, leaving the CS2 community questioning the outcome of this controversy.
