Essential Mirage Smokes
Mirage was the most played map in CS:GO and remains a favorite map among players in Counter-Strike 2. Known for being an aim-based map where having sharp mechanics can give you an advantage due to the many easily available duels to take to open the round on the T side.
A pinch of skill and keen game sense could take you a mile on this map, but the secret ingredient to winning is smoke grenades, which can often be a game-changer and vital for winning every single round.
Whether you're attacking as a Terrorist or defending as a Counter-Terrorist, using smoke grenades wisely can make a huge difference. With CS2’s official release, we decided to go over the most important smokes on the T side to dominate your enemies.
CS2 Mirage smokes
Mirage’s map layout is fairly easy to understand, divided into three important sections: the A Bombsite, Middle and the B Bombsite.
Following this smoke guide will guarantee you the blockage of different CT positions so you can execute your plan accordingly, whether it’s an A or B split from Middle or a simple site execution.
A site smokes:
The standard site smokes usually cover CT spawn, Stairs and Jungle. This was then followed by a molotov for Under Palace in addition to a couple of flashes to ease the Entry Fragger’s job.
CT smoke:
This smoke is designed to cover the entrance from the CT side to the A-Site. Depending on the circumstances, it can serve two main purposes: either blocking off CT rotations or isolating a CT player who might be positioned behind the Ticket Booth.
- CT Smoke
- CT 2nd version
Jungle smoke:
This smoke blocks the view from Jungle and Connector towards the A-Bombsite. It helps players safely reach the Bombsite and makes it harder for CTs to retake. When used with the Stairs smoke, it practically blinds the CTs in Connector and Jungle, giving you a big advantage.
- Jungle smoke
- Jungle from Tetris
Stairs smoke:
Taking the A site control without this smoke can be problematic, CTs often play this position to deny access to the bombsite.
- Stairs smoke
The Under Palace molotov is crucial if you want to clear the dark corner without losing a player, though it can be thrown from Ramp, this lineup is the safest since you’re not exposed to the bombsite
- Under Palace molotov
These two smokes can be handy when trying to fake and outsmart your enemies, with the Palace smoke from B apartments being unexpected in low Elo matches. For that, be sure to use your utility wisely as you don’t want to throw a fake smoke when you have limited utility for the B Bombsite.
While the Palace smoke from B apartments is less needed, the Top Connector from spawn is a good way to split from Middle to Short, mixed with a Window smoke to block all vision for the CTs.
- Palace smoke from B apartments
- Top Connector smoke from spawn
Middle smokes:
Taking control of A site is tough without the right smokes and quick, effective teamwork. Going from Apartments to B is risky against skilled players and therefore you must dominate the Mid area to succeed in outplaying your enemies.
- Window smoke
We all know crossing Mid without a smoke can be dangerous. This simple smoke will allow you access to Top Middle without exposing yourself or dying.
- Top Middle smoke
The Connector smoke is another way to take Mid control without any risks.
- Connector smoke
There are countless lineups for Window, Short and Jungle. However if you want to flex your utility game, then use these to stand out from the crowd and be unique.
- Window, Short and Jungle smokes from one position
- Short smoke from Top Middle
B site smokes:
Rush B! A simple yet effective tactic. All that it requires you to do is overcome the B players and the round should be yours. Of course, rushing straight into the site is a suicide mission, unless you play your cards well and use these smokes to block the main CT access points.
Window smoke
Market Door smoke
Short smoke from apartments
Short Arches smokes
Using these smokes will guarantee you better site executes, so be sure to use them effectively, and happy fragging.
