Highlight Skin Showcase: SunPayus 1v4 against Virtus.Pro

Falcons signed their superteam at the very end of 2023. This project saw ex-Astralis and Vitality duo of Emil “Magisk” Reif and Danny “zonic” Sørensen join forces with the ENCE trio of Pavle “Maden” Bošković, Álvaro “SunPayus” García and Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer with Jordanian rifle talent Mohammad “BOROS” Malhas rounding out the roster. This project, to this point, has been an abject failure. Once we were made aware of the formation of a superteam, many thought Falcons would dominate the scene with their endless funds. However, that has not been the case, with the Saudi organization’s best result being a semi-final appearance at IEM Katowice 2024.

Things didn’t go well with BOROS in the side, eventually leading to his departure and the swift arrival of Counter-Strike legend Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, who remains on the roster to this day. There has still, however, been a lack of strong results, with the tides only turning recently in the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, an event they were only in due to their poor performance at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups.

Despite the constant links to Nikola “NiKo” Kovač throughout the Showdown, Falcons managed to put up a strong showing, beating Virtus.Pro to gain their spot in the BLAST Premier Fall Finals alongside FaZe who also qualified. In this qualification match against Dzhami “Jame” Ali’s men, SunPayus put on a show, especially on the first map of Vertigo, where the Spaniard won a 1v4 to finish off the map, giving Falcons a 1-0 lead.

So with that said, let’s take a look at the skins used by the Spanish AWP talent, who, in this highlight, showed his prowess with the rifle.

Either a big fan of green or just wanting to match with his new organization’s logo, SunPayus was sporting a pair of one of the most expensive and popular green gloves in the game during the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown. In his bout against Virtus.Pro, SunPayus was wearing his pair of Field-Tested Sport Gloves | Hedge Maze. The Sport Gloves | Hedge Maze are, as mentioned, majority-green, with them having a sporty design as well as white stripes down the gloves, which provide contrast and cause the green color to really pop. An incredibly eye-catching pair of gloves to say the least, fitting of the flamboyant Spanish sniper. A pair of Hedge Maze gloves will set you back just over $4K in Field-Tested, a pretty penny for a pretty pair of gloves.

Despite being one of the best AWPers in the world, finishing as the sixth-best player and third-best AWPer in 2023, SunPayus won this clutch with his trusty AK-47. Clearly an incredible rifle player as well as sniper, SunPayus uses a Minimal Wear AK-47 | The Empress covered in four maden | Antwerp 2022 stickers. These two have been teammates since August 2022 and therefore clearly good friends but interestingly these stickers are from before they were teammates and when maden and ENCE made the semi-final at the PGL Major in Antwerp. The design of the AK-47 | The Empress is incredibly grand, befitting of royalty. It features a beautiful mixture of colors, with “The Empress” being the focal point of the weapon finish that clearly takes inspiration from the Empress tarot card. A replica of this skin will set you back around $50, with the AK-47 | The Empress being most of the value as the stickers cost around $0.1 each.
