Highlight Skin Showcase: ZywOo Pistol ACE against FURIA

Despite going toe-to-toe with two youngsters in Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov and Danil “donk” Kryshkovets, Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut has remained the best player in the Counter-Strike scene, performing remarkably in what has been a lackluster year for Vitality so far. The international quintet has failed to win a single event so far in 2024, despite making two finals at both IEM Dallas and ESL Pro League Season 19. In Germany, Dan “apEX” Madesclaire’s men will be eager to get their hands on a trophy, with them coming into the event in decent form after topping their group at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups. 

Ranked four in the world, Vitality’s first match of IEM Cologne 2024 came against FURIA, who qualified for the main event after a strong showing in the Play-In Stage. The international roster managed to swiftly dispatch of the Brazilian roster, winning 2-0 with ZywOo being integral for the victory, as always for Vitality. The Frenchman made his presence known straight away at IEM Cologne, getting an ace in his first round at the tournament, a chilling thought for other teams we are sure. 

On the first round of Inferno, apEX, ZywOo and Shahar “flameZ” Shushan were tasked with holding the B bombsite. This play was one of deception, with the setup seemingly being flameZ supported by apEX with flashbangs but what FURIA weren’t aware of was ZywOo, who was tucked in at sandbags. With flameZ dead and all five members of FURIA at the top of Banana, ZywOo emerged from his hiding spot, taking the duels and winning every single one, claiming the ace.

Without further rambling, let’s take a look at the skins ZywOo was using to start Cologne with a literal bang. 

The French sniper has been known to sport a pair of Sport Gloves | Amphibious for a while now, with ZywOo owning a pair of Factory New ones, which, like all Factory New gloves, are rare and valued at just under $6K. The Sport Gloves | Amphibious feature a striking combination of white and blue, making them perfect for anyone looking to build a blue inventory. The blue pattern takes inspiration from amphibians, as you would expect from a pair of gloves named Amphibious. The pattern is specifically similar to the one found on the blue poison dart frog.

The French superstar got all his kills with his USP-S | Kill Confirmed, which again is in Factory New condition. The Kill Confirmed skin was added in the Shadow Case in 2015 and quickly became one of the most popular in the game. The USP-S | Kill Confirmed’s main colors are red and black, providing contrast with the gloves, with the gun finish containing a gray skull being shattered by a bullet, appropriate for the sequence he performed against FURIA. The bullet leaves a fiery trace and causes blood splatter and shards of bone flying from the skull, creating a beautiful yet disturbing piece of art. A Factory New USP-S | Kill Confirmed is valued at around $200.
