Skin Showcase: Liquid's New Duo
After the failure of the Casper “cadiaN” Møller-led project, Liquid are undergoing another rebuild, this time handing control over to Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, who will be leading the team going forward. Felipe “skullz” Medeiros and cadiaN are making way for two new additions, Justin “jks” Savage and Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak. Both are relative unknowns heading into the team, with jks, while experienced, having only played one event on CS2 - IEM Sydney 2023 and Polish sniper ultimate being acquired from Illuminar with no experience in tier one. Alongside the two new players, former-Apeks coach Torbjørn “mithR” Nyborg was brought in to help steady the ship.
With every Liquid rebuild that passes it gets harder to remain positive and with so many unknowns, from the new players to new leadership, this is no different. Keith “NAF” Markovic will show a consistently high level as always and the same will likely be true for jks. If Twistzz can deliver a similar output whilst making strong calls and Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis can take a step up, Liquid should have a strong base, providing vital time for ultimate to find his feet at this level.
Newcomers jks and ultimate will be making their debut with Liquid on Wednesday at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups against Virtus.pro. With the world’s eyes on them ahead of their debut, let’s take a look at their inventories and see what skins they will be rocking in their first game for Liquid.
Justin “jks” Savage
he Australian has a very clean inventory with a striking pair of Specialist Gloves | Crimson Kimono, which he complements with various Vanilla knives. Justin typically uses his Butterfly Knife | Vanilla, but also has a Skeleton Knife | Vanilla and a Karambit | Vanilla in his inventory if he prefers. As said, this combination is very clean and looks fashionable, setting you back around $6K, with the Butterfly Knife | Vanilla around $2K and the gloves at around $4K.
To accompany his classy knife and glove combo, jks has an AK | 47 Fire Serpent and an M4A4 | Howl, both in Factory New condition. When we think of jks, we think of his anchoring capabilities, specifically on ramp on Nuke with the M4A4 | Howl in hand. A position that has led to multiple highlights in this position throughout his career. The Australian is also handy with his T-side rifle, his AK | 47 Fire Serpent, a rifle with a dragon brandished across it.
Fitting for his individual level, jks has some top-class skins and we will be excited to see him use them at the new home he has found with Liquid.
Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak
A newcomer to tier one, ultimate is an unknown quantity and therefore so are his skins. The Pole has a yellow-themed inventory, with the knife and glove combo being his pair of Sport Gloves | Omega and his Karambit | Lore, which is StatTrak™. These gloves are black athletic gloves which feature strong yellow accents which work well with the striking gold patterned Karambit | Lore. The Minimal Wear StatTrak™ Karambit | Lore is valued at around $1.5K, with his Well-Worn Sport Gloves | Omega coming in at just under $500.
To complement these skins, ultimate has an AWP | Wildfire, AK-47 | Fuel Injector and M4A1-S | Chantico's Fire. These skins all feature yellow to some degree, with the AK-47 | Fuel Injector being mostly yellow and clearly inspired by work machinery. The M4A1-S | Chantico's Fire features reds, yellows and black, creating a majestic mosaic pattern and finally the AWP | Wildfire which is decorated with the Operation Wildfire logo, the flaming dragon on a black and red base.
While not overly expensive, ultimate has a tasteful inventory, which he will look to put to good use in his first game in tier one with Liquid on Wednesday. Be sure to watch BLAST Premier Fall Groups to see his and jks' debut with Liquid.
