Everything To Know About the Five-SeveN
The Five-SeveN is a semi-automatic pistol exclusive to the CT-side in Counter-Strike. Its effectiveness lies in its remarkable armor penetration capability, as the weapon is capable of delivering lethal one-shot kills through headshots at both close and medium ranges.
This feature makes it a powerful choice when facing opponents donning armor. What sets it further apart is being easy to double-tap given the low recoil in its first two shots.
The gun can hold 20 bullets in a clip and has another 100 as backup, so you don't have to worry much about running out of ammo. But after the first three shots, it's harder to aim accurately, so you need to be careful. It's also faster to reload than other $500 pistols, which makes it a reliable choice when you need a gun that can penetrate armor.
“Highly accurate and armor-piercing, the pricey Five-Seven is a slow-loader that compensates with a generous 20-round magazine and forgiving recoil.” - Valve official description
Though the weapon is optimal for some scenarios, the Five-SeveN has some downsides; It's not very accurate when you're moving, and it shoots slower than other pistols, which means it takes more time to kill enemies.
Considering its cost and not having a special advantage in certain rounds, it might be smarter to buy a cheaper P250 or a stronger Deagle instead, unless you have a plan in mind depending on how much money your team has.

Five-SeveN Trivia
- The weapon was originally available to both Counter-Terrorists and Terrorists until the January 23, 2013 update restricted them to CTs again.
- In all Counter-Strike games before Global Offensive, it was one of just two guns that won't instantly kill with a headshot up close. The other is the Glock -18 sidearm.
- The Five-SeveN in CS2 has the same draw and reload animations as the P2000, P250 and the Glock-18.
- The Five-SeveN is originally from Belgium and was created by FN Herstal. The initial edition of the Five-SeveN seen in early Counter-Strike titles is modeled after the original version, whereas the iteration in Global Offensive is inspired by the USG variant.
