During the past twelve years, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has implemented many different changes and innovations, with the biggest being the transition to Counter-Strike 2 in September of 2023. Throughout this time there have been many new maps, new weapons, alterations to the economy and lots of other miscellaneous updates. But, over that long stretch of time, one thing has remained the same as before - the AK-47 is the most popular weapon in the game.
Counter-Strike players have been using the AK-47 on the T side for decades (CV-47 prior to Global Offensive) and with the arrival of weapon finishes in the Arms Deal update in 2014, AK-47 skins became some of the most desirable in the entire game and that is still the case to this day.
There are over forty different AK–47 finishes to choose from in Counter-Strike 2, with the most recent addition being the AK-47 | Inheritance, which was added in the Kilowatt Case and managed to sneak into our top ten.

10 - AK-47 | Slate
The AK-47 | Slate is the blank canvas of AK-47 finishes, allowing a lot of room for personalization through the use of stickers. The weapon finish is an AK-47 entirely covered in a slate-like black, with a matte finish. This simple yet gorgeous AK-47 is one of the most popular in the game and this is due to its sleek look and its affordability. A Factory New AK-47 | Slate can easily be acquired for less than $10, a bargain if you ask us.
When it comes to the AK-47 | Case Hardened there is a lot of variability between patterns, with certain patterns, like the scar 661 pattern, being amongst the most valuable weapon finishes in the game. The Case Hardened pattern involves mixtures of yellow and blue, with blue being the more desirable color and adding to the price of the weapon. A typical AK-47 | Case Hardened is valued at just over $200 in Field Tested condition, with some rarer patterns being worth up to a staggering $1M.
8 - AK-47 | Redline
Added through the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case in February of 2014, the AK-47 | Redline is still one of the more popular AK-47 finishes to this day. The AK-47 | Redline, valued at just under $100 in Minimal Wear, features a carbon-fiber body with a red pinstripe creating an incredibly striking design. Sadly, there are no Factory New finishes available for the AK-47 | Redline and therefore lower float Minimal Wear AKs are incredibly sought after.
From one of the oldest AK-47 skins to the newest. The AK-47 | Inheritance, added to Counter-Strike 2 at the start of 2024, is a weapon finish with a regal-like appearance, with areas of gold and blue with a contrasting white background. The floral designs that adorn the AK-47 are gorgeous and take inspiration from traditional Chinese porcelain and Delft Blauw art. A Factory New AK-47 | Inheritance will set you back around $200.
The AK-47 | Gold Arabesque is not everybody’s cup of tea but it certainly is a skin designed for a show-off who is ready to dominate and let the whole server know who’s boss. If you like gold, then the AK-47 | Gold Arabesque is the AK-47 skin for you. Valued at just under $4K, the Gold Arabesque features areas of intricate design that are hand-painted as well as the metal that is entirely gold with filigree accents. An AK-47 skin is perfect for someone with immense confidence.
From one flashy AK-47 to another, the AK-47 | Neon Rider is incredibly flamboyant, being majority pink. The Neon Rider finish features a pink background, with a deadly biker and pulse graph in the foreground. This eye-catching mixture of complementary pink and white will set you back just over $100 in Factory New condition.
4 - AK-47 | Vulcan
With the Vulcan race from Star Trek being its namesake, it is no surprise that the AK-47 | Vulcan’s design is futuristic in nature. The Vulcan’s sporty look features a concoction of light blue, black and white and is easily one of the most loved AK-47 finishes in the game. A Factory New AK-47 | Vulcan is valued at around $600 and very deserving of a spot in the top five AK-47 skins in the game.
Added through the Operation Wildfire Case in 2016, the AK-47 | Fuel Injector quickly became one of the most loved AK-47 skins in the game. The Fuel Injector design features a bright yellow body with the rest of the gun having a metallic finish, giving a machinery-type look. Across the weapon, the word “Supercharged” is present, and when looking at such a beautiful skin, that will certainly be the case. A Factory New variant is worth just under $400.
We didn’t want to fill this list with overly expensive AK-47 skins and we believe that the AK-47 | Bloodsport is the best semi-budget AK-47 finish in the game. The AK-47 | Bloodsport’s design features areas of orange and black with white decals placed all over the gun. The AK-47 | Bloodsport has a very futuristic look and features the words “speed, precision, control”, something everyone wants to apply to their AK-47. A Factory New Bloodsport is worth just over $100 but we would recommend buying a Field-Tested one at slightly cheaper due to the little difference between the two conditions.
Topping the list for the best AK-47 skin in the entire game is the AK-47 | Wild Lotus. To note, due to not only its looks but also its rarity, the AK-47 | Wild Lotus is fairly expensive, being valued at over $12K in Factory New condition but we believe it is worthy of such a value. The AK-47 | Wild Lotus has a gorgeous green base that is covered in a floral pattern with a huge orange lotus flower being the centerpiece of the design. This breathtaking AK-47 is popular amongst professionals too, with Liquid’s Canadian duo of Keith “NAF” Markovic and Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken both being known to use the Wild Lotus.
