All about Deadlock Heroes - Bebop

Welcome to our Deadlock hero spotlight series, where we examine the game's unique characters in depth.
Today, we'll be shining the spotlight on Bebop, a captivating and versatile hero with a compelling background story. Join us as we explore Bebop's distinctive set of skills, including Exploding Uppercut, Sticky Bomb, Hook, Hyper Beam, and more!

Background

Bebop, forged by the hands of a widowed junk yard attendant, was more than just some scrap golem laborer; he was the son she couldn't have. Together, they would work in the iron yard during the day and listen to jazz at night. It was a predictable, if not comforting, routine. But now, Bebop's creator has fallen ill, and while Miss Shelly would disapprove of the activities that Bebop does at night to pay for her medicine, what she doesn't know can't hurt her.

Hero Overview

Bebop's skills are remarkably versatile, offering a myriad of possibilities for strategic combinations. His massive laser, a pivotal part of his arsenal, is particularly effective in situations that do not require subtlety. These skills can disrupt enemy positions, rescue a teammate, or inflict sudden bursts of damage, making Bebop a game-changer in certain situations.

Exploding Uppercut

Exploding Uppercut, Bebop's first ability, is a unique and innovative skill. It deals light melee damage to nearby units and sends them flying back, causing area damage where they land, and does not damage allies. Its first upgrade grants it a significant reduction in Cooldown. The second upgrade gives it a 'fast spin-up time', extended range, and increased weapon damage for a limited time when you uppercut an enemy hero. The final upgrade is a game-changer, resetting the Hook cooldown and instantly replenishing your ammo whenever you uppercut an enemy hero.

Sticky Bomb

His second ability, "Sticky Bomb", attaches a sticky bomb to a nearby target that deals explosive damage after a short fuse time. Grants 2.5% bomb damage for every enemy hero hit. Can cast a sticky bomb on himself, with a base damage of 120 and a fuse time of 3 seconds. The first upgrade grants -8s Cooldown, the second grants +80 damage, and the third and final upgrade disarms the target for 3.5s when attached to them.

Hook

Launches out a hook that grabs and reels in the first enemy or friendly hero it hits -similar to Pudge in Valve's other game, DotA 2- dealing damage to the hooked hero if it's an enemy. And the target will be placed in whichever direction Bebop is facing. Its first upgrade causes Bebop to deal 30% more bullet damage against hooked enemies for 10 seconds, and the second upgrade increases the cast range by 30m. The third and final upgrade lowers the Cooldown by 12 seconds.

Hyper Beam

Bebop's ultimate ability is a force to be reckoned with. It allows him to charge up his laser to unleash a mighty torrent of energy that deals significant damage and slows enemy movement and dashes. However, this power comes with a price; Bebop also experiences slow movement and a low turn rate for the duration. If activated in the air, he will hover while unleashing the beam. The first upgrade grants a substantial reduction in Cooldown (40 seconds), the second upgrade significantly increases the damage Output (+100 DPS), and the final upgrade allows it to heal Bebop for a portion of its damage, making it a truly formidable skill.

Bebop is a well-rounded and compelling hero in Deadlock. With a captivating background story and a diverse set of skills, Bebop stands out as a versatile and strategic game-changer. His unique abilities, such as Exploding Uppercut, Sticky Bomb, Hook, and Hyper Beam, offer a wide range of possibilities for players to explore and master. Whether disrupting enemy positions, rescuing teammates, or inflicting sudden bursts of damage, Bebop's potential is undeniable. The depth of his character and the versatility of his skills make him a force to be reckoned with in the world of Deadlock.
