CS2 Players opened over 30 million cases in August
As we’re entering a new month, it’s time to look at some of the cases numbers racked up and opened by Counter-Strike 2 players. Although August isn't record-breaking, the number of cases opened is still relatively high since the game is dry of new content.
The idea of unboxing a rare special item is tempting, however, it’s not the optimal way to get your dream skins. Considering the low odds of profiting off cases, it’s better to simply acquire your desired skin from the market, especially in the BitSkins marketplace where everything is cheaper.
Over 30 million cases opened during August
According to csgocasetracker.com, CS2 players have opened 30,346,656 cases in the last 30 days which is a substantial increase compared to July with only 18,199,330 unboxed cases.
The Revolution Case was the most popular case to open with a whopping 5,418,803, followed by The Dreams and Nightmares Case with 5,341,207.
Moreover, The Kilowatt Case, despite being the most recent case, landed in third place with 4,151,198. The 23rd of May update might’ve played a significant role in dropping the case’s numbers by introducing the “Rentals” as more players prefer to rent the entire collection for a week instead trying their luck only to unbox a Mil-Spec skin.
Another interesting trend is the continued relevance of The Anubis Collection, which, despite being released over a year ago, still saw over 1.5 million packages unboxed.
Overall, there’s an increase in the number of total cases opened after a significant drop for two consecutive months, and as long as there’s no new content for the game, the numbers are expected to rise in the upcoming months.
Most opened cases:
- Revolution Case - 5,418,803
