Highlight Skin Showcase: hallzerk 1v5 against ALTERNATE aTTaX

The dawn of CS2 gave teams a chance to rise the rankings quickly and Complexity were a team that organically benefited from the switch to the new Counter-Strike iteration, finishing second at IEM Sydney 2023. However, things have since stagnated for the international roster, failing to make many meaningful runs, with the highlights being a semi-final appearance at ESL Pro League Season 19 and a second-tier tournament victory at ESL Challenger Jönköping 2024.

Complexity need to start making some progress and after over a year with the team now, starman Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski will expect some results, with the American stating in an interview with HLTV.org that his side “need to start becoming a team that makes the playoffs at a minimum”. Norwegian AWPer Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli has been with Complexity since July 2022 and has been a consistent piece for them ever since. He has his highs and his lows but overall is a steady player who is always capable of producing highlights. In their first match of the IEM Cologne 2024 Play-In, hallzerk proved this fact to be true.

On the first map of Inferno, the Nordic sniper pulled off the impossible, winning a 1v5 against the German side, leading to an eventual 2-0 win, putting them one win away from the group stage of the main event. Sadly for the skin fanatics amongst us, the clutch couldn’t have been performed with a more boring weapon finish. Taking inspiration from his teammate EliGE no doubt, who has an inventory full of default skins, hallzerk was using a default Galil AR skin. Not the prettiest but certainly effective, at least in this case.

There are still some noteworthy skins on display, so without further ado, let’s have a look.

For the gloves, hallzerk was using a pair of Sport Gloves | Slingshot in Field Tested condition. These are athletic-looking gloves, made of red synthetic fibers. The Slingshot design features streaks of white, which contrast the red and make the gloves incredibly eye-catching. To complement his red gloves, the Norwegian sniper was sporting a Crimson Web finish knife, specifically the Skeleton Knife | Crimson Web, again in Field Tested condition. The Skeleton Knife is one of the most desirable in the game, featuring a sleek design and nice animations and the Crimson Web finish only adds to that desirability. The Crimson Web pattern has a deep crimson-red base, with a randomly assorted spider web pattern across the blade. The random nature of the pattern makes each knife unique and special, fitting for a play as memorable as hallzerk’s.

This combination will set you back around $2K, with both the Skeleton Knife | Crimson Web and the Sport Gloves | Slingshot both being valued at around $1K in Field Tested condition.

As mentioned, for the majority of the frags hallzerk was using his default Galil AR skin, a sad fact for all the skinheads out there. However, after killing four members of ALTERNATE aTTaX on the top of Banana and being left on six hit points, hallzerk picked up Marcel “hyped” Köhn’s AWP | The Prince and headed to the A bombsite. This reposition gave hallzerk time to get the bomb down on the A site, outmaneuvering Lukas “FreeZe” Hegmann, before he picked up the final kill with the aforementioned dropped sniper. 

The AWP | The Prince is a highly sought-after and valuable AWP finish, being added in The Canals Collection in 2019 and worth around $4K. German sniper hyped’s AWP | The Prince was in Factory New condition and the finish features a regal looking design. The Prince is custom-painted with a red base and gold filigree, which is a form of intricate metalwork found in jewelry. Being named “The Prince”, the skin certainly looks befitting of a royal and hallzerk certainly exceeded the name on the server, with a title like "The King" being more appropriate for this particular round. 

Across the gun, it states “Pax tibi Marce, evangelista meus” which translates to “Peace be with you, Mark, my evangelist”. These words relate to the Lion of Saint Mark which represents Mark the Evangelist in the Bible. One thing’s for certain, Jesus was certainly on hallzerk’s side on Inferno, as it looked like he would require divine intervention for even a chance at the round.
