Why Can't I See Certain CS2 Items in Inventories?
If you have tried to load anybody's inventory at any time in the last 6 weeks, you may have noticed that certain skins aren't visible. For example, if you were playing Premier and saw a teammate with a cool knife and glove combo, but checked his inventory to see what float they were only to find that the skins weren't in their inventory, you may have been very confused. Unfortunately, Steam's recent update to CS2 trading has changed the ways you can view inventories, so there is no way to fix this issue. However, we can do the next best thing: explain what is going on and why.
On April 2nd of this year, Steam made a few changes to how CS2 inventories work. As of the release of the corresponding update,
Purchased and traded Counter-Strike items will not be visible to other users who view your Steam Inventory for 10 days.
As a result, items won't appear in your public inventory until 10 days after the time they are added to your inventory. You will still be able to see them in your own inventory, but others viewing your inventory won't be able to see them. This has serious implications for trading sites and databases which rely on quickly updating inventories to verify trades and search for skins.
How This Affects Bitskins
For those of you wondering how this will affect buying and selling on BitSkins, we are here to relieve your fears. While we won't be able to see skins in your inventory until 10 days after they are added, you can still sell on BitSkins after those 10 days, and since the bots take care of the trading, you don't have to worry about not being able to verify skins and worrying about losing skins without getting paid. As other sites try to navigate these scary times in CS2 trading, we remain fully committed to offering the best CS2 buying and selling services, and as a result of these updates, we are the safest place to buy and sell skins at the moment.
