Austin Major 2025 Stickers Spotlight

Another Major in the USA will be hosting us in just 10 days! For the first time since 2018 and the days of ELAGUE Major Atlanta & Boston, a Major rank tournament will be played on American soil. Expectations, due to the top teams performing at the tournament and recent moves on the transfer scene, have definitely heated up the atmosphere. In addition to the excitement and the rivalry, the in-game atmosphere also plays an important role during the Major. We once again received dedicated stickers, but they are a bit special this time!

What's new?

For the past four years, i.e., from the memorable Major Stockholm in 2021 (no Major took place in 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic), we have been receiving stickers that were a copy-paste version of the previous ones. Starting with the Stockholm ones, which were groundbreaking at the time due to the lack of occasional surrounds and a kind of return to the style of Katowice 2014/2015, up to the Shanghai ones from 2024, they all looked ‘the same’ (except Rio, which was a bit different).

This time, Valve decided to do something definitely more creative and went a step further in design. Not only are the new stickers different from the previous ones, but they fit perfectly into the atmosphere of the tournament, which is taking place in Austin, Texas!

The new PAPER stickers certainly capture the spirit of Texas and the ‘Wanted’ style posters from the cowboy movies. The team emblems themselves have been prepared in a tough style and look like coal or stone being absorbed by the heat surrounding them, with horns and Major logo underneath.

Paper stickers do not always look good when they are scratched off, but we have here a real exception. The stickers ‘glow’ when scratched off and give off a fiery glow. Some even draw parallels to ‘Glitter’ or ‘Holo’ style stickers, why?

Sticker Changes

The glitter stickers appeared alongside the Paris Major on 4 May 2023, they were something new and completely replaced the foil-style stickers that had been unseen in the game for the past two years. Valve, after such a break, decided to bring them back at the expense of the previously mentioned glitters. It's possible that they came to the conclusion that this style of stickers was far weaker than the foil ones and decided to combine them with paper ones to create an improved version.

Also worth noting are the Holo stickers, which this year feature flaming patterns on their texture—clearly evoking the high temperatures of Texas. This design is one of the best and most visually striking in recent years. Such effects perfectly reflect not only the spirit of the tournament, but also its heated atmosphere!

Unfortunately, the stickers in the gold version do not have anything as special as the previous two, apart from the color, of course.

Again, the sticker fits in with the style and atmosphere, this time resembling a solid belt buckle.

Of course, in addition to stickers, we have received pick'em challenge as usual and the ability to support your favorite team by setting up an in-game graffiti with its emblem. What's more, a new coin has also been added to the game, which will come in 3 levels as standard.
