How to Master the Deagle in CS2
Welcome to the third edition of our series helping you to master your gameplay with every single weapon in CS2. In today's article, we are taking a break from the main rifles like the AK-47 and AWP to help you perfect your aim and gameplay with the perfect ECO round weapon: the Desert Eagle, commonly abridged to the Deagle.
The Deagle costs just $700 and can instantly kill an opponent with a shot to the head, even if they have a helmet, making it an excellent choice for rounds where you have low money but still want to create an impactful round. Plus, one solid shot at an opponent can grant you a weapon, completely turning your ECO round into an extremely winnable situation.
Without further adieu, let's jump into some tips for mastering your aim, positioning, and overall gameplay with the Deagle in CS2.
Crosshair Placement
Crosshair placement is arguably the most important skill that you must hone in order to master your Desert Eagle gameplay. Since the Deagle can instantly kill any opponent with a headshot, you must always keep your crosshair where the enemy's head would be when peeking at angles. When actively peeking, be aware of where your crosshair is placed and constantly adjust it so that when an enemy comes into frame, you can instantly kill them.
Shot Timing
Timing your shots is a very important aspect of the Desert Eagle. Since the gun recoils after it is shot, you must put time between shots to allow the gun to return to a neutral position where it will be completely accurate. If you spam too quickly, the shots will all miss and you will lose the duel. Funnily enough, the Deagle resets at a pace identical to the rhythm of the iconic song "Stayin' Alive," so if you learn the song's beat, you can easily time your shots to the song's beat and have perfect accuracy.
Aim Training
If you are struggling with aim, we suggest spending some time on aim training maps. There are tons of maps available on the CS2 workshop where you can train your aim with the Deagle and other weapons! In almost all of these maps, your enemies will be standing still, so you can practice counter-strafing, transitions between shots, and more! PLAY, PLAY, PLAY
Just like we say in every article, the best way to improve is to play the game. Even if your positioning or aim with the Desert Eagle has yet to reach a perfect status, it doesn't hurt to queue up some games to round off your edges and practice your aim in real-game scenarios where it actually matters. As an added bonus, you can quite literally always afford to buy a Deagle in a Premier or Competitive match, and even if you don't perform well, you can always watch the demo replay to see what you did wrong and how you can improve.
